What are access methods and what are they

Access method L: suitable for UNIX systems, where the Sap spool system stores the print job as an OS file and which is sent to the host spooler using the typical lp or lpr commands.

Access method C: This is used for WIN NT systems in this case there is no OS file is generated. The Sap spool system directly passes the data to the windows print manager.

Access method E is intended for printers that must be connected over an external output management system.

Access method F: known for front end printing, can be used for output requests that should be printed locally on users PC.

Access method I: is intended to use with archiving devices.
